Small movements. Deep change.

Experience the power of Light Touch Therapies.

Not all healing requires pressure. Some of the most powerful shifts come from the gentlest touch, when the body is met, not pushed.

At Whistling Kite Healing Therapies, Abbey often incorporates light touch therapies such as Bowen Therapy and the Emmett Technique. These approaches are subtle but profound, inviting the nervous system to reset and the body to realign itself without force. You don’t need to request these specifically. If your body asks for this kind of work, Abbey will know.

Why gentleness matters

Light touch techniques don’t force the body to change, they invite it. That’s why they often work so well, especially when combined with Abbey’s intuitive understanding of what your system can handle on a given day.

You may notice subtle shifts immediately, or gentle improvements that unfold in the hours or days after. There’s no need to request Bowen or Emmett. If it’s right for you, your body will ask, and Abbey will respond.

Bowen Therapy

Bowen Therapy is a gentle, hands-on technique that uses rolling movements over muscles, tendons, and fascia to stimulate the body’s natural healing response. Movements are followed by short pauses, giving your system time to respond and reset.

Bowen can support:

  • Muscular and joint pain
  • Postural imbalances
  • Nervous system dysregulation
  • Chronic tension or fatigue

It’s suitable for all ages and can be especially beneficial if you’re highly sensitive, recovering from illness, or simply prefer a gentler approach.

Emmett Technique

Similar in intention, the Emmett Technique uses gentle fingertip pressure on specific points to activate the body’s own balancing response. It can help release locked muscles, ease pain, and improve mobility, often with surprisingly fast results.

Abbey may incorporate Emmett into your session when:

  • A muscle group needs to release without deep pressure
  • The nervous system feels overstimulated
  • A gentle shift could open space for deeper integration

FAQs – Light Touch Techniques

While massage works more directly into muscle tissue, Bowen and Emmett focus on the nervous system and fascial network. These techniques aim to reprogram tension patterns and support alignment with minimal input, often creating shifts that feel subtle but profound.

You may feel more relaxed, lighter, or clearer straight after the session. For some people, the effects unfold gradually over the next 24–48 hours as the body integrates. Because the work is gentle, it often creates space for deeper, longer-lasting shifts.

Yes. Light touch therapies are often ideal for people who are highly sensitive, in recovery, or managing chronic pain. Abbey will always adapt the session to your comfort level and health background.

These are generally not offered as standalone treatments. Instead, they’re gently integrated into Abbey’s intuitive sessions when needed. You don’t have to know what your body needs, that’s part of her work.

Absolutely. EFT can work beautifully in combination with massage, energy work, or other healing approaches. Abbey may integrate it naturally into your session if your body and emotions are ready for it, it all depends what your body requires during the session.

Whether you’re used to bodywork or brand new to it, you’ll be supported with gentleness, clarity, and respect.
